HOW TO PLAY
- Choose a movie in your target language. You may also want subtitles in your native language.
- With a Bilingual Bingo card and a pen, watch the movie and listen carefully with subtitles OFF.
- When you hear a target word or phrase in your target language, write down the time and the word or phrase in the corresponding Bilingual Bingo square.
- Try to complete a row (five squares across), column (five squares down), diagonal, an X pattern, or fill the entire card. Those patterns are called a “bingo”. Determine your “bingo” pattern BEFORE the movie starts.
- To verify your answers and review your listening comprehension, skim through the movie again, this time with subtitles ON. Things you’ll want to look for is what words and phrases you missed, what was misheard, and what was taken out of context.
- Jot down any learnings or insights gleaned from the movie.
